These volunteer opportunities may be for you:
Guest Services Host/Hostess
Greet visitors, hand out brochures, and answer general questions.
Guest Services Receptionist
Answer incoming calls and answer questions about directions to the Garden, admission prices, and special events; direct incoming calls to appropriate staff.

by teaching others?
These volunteer opportunities may be for you:
Garden Guide
Garden Guides attend monthly meetings to learn more about the Garden. They lead scheduled tours through the Garden and Conservatory and also serve as roving interpreters. Apprentice Garden Guides attend special training sessions in winter and spring and participate in “shadow tours” with veteran guides before leading tours on their own.
Registration and Logistics Assistant
Assist with registration and logistics at public programs. Volunteers assist the Education special programs team on an on-call basis with jobs related to lectures, workshops and community outreach.
Library Assistant
Shelve books, check for mis-shelved items, help visitors find books or journals, use a database to circulate materials (check-in, check-out), process new books, address and mail overdue notices, answer phone and email requests for gardening information, research visitor and caller questions, and process plant and seed catalogs.

General Horticulture Volunteer
Assist horticulturists and gardeners in maintaining the individual gardens within Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
Orchid Assistant
Assist in volunteer greenhouse caring for and maintaining our orchid collection for display in the Conservatory.
Plant Preservation Volunteer
Gather and preserve plant material to be used in Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights decorations.
Plant Records Volunteer
Assist Garden staff in producing accession and visitor plant labels as well as participating in the day-to-day activities related to maintaining the plant records database.
Conservatory Volunteer
Assist the Conservatory horticulturist in maintaining with gardening tasks.
Are You a Team-Builder or Are Someone Who Likes to Do Administrative Work?
These volunteer opportunities may be for you:
Volunteer Administrative Assistant
Assist with administrative and clerical tasks/projects.
Development Volunteer
Assist the Garden’s Development office with clerical duties.
Education Office Volunteer
Assist with general office work and information distribution. Help with copying, addressing envelopes, counting rack cards, stuffing envelopes.
