Garden and CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program Loan
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has received a CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program loan. This enabled the Garden to meet the board’s direction to safely fill positions focused on emergency caretaking priorities. This included positions that:
- Ensure viability of Garden regardless of duration of COVID-19 closure and business interruption;
- Maintain core garden, building, and system infrastructure;
- Ensure core capacity for revenue generation, earned or raised.
PLEASE NOTE: The term of employment is through June 15. The PPP funding is for an eight-week time period only. The positions are not guaranteed beyond that point. A Garden closure past June 15 would continue to impact vital revenue streams. The Garden will continue to follow the guidance of elected and health officials on a reopening date. At this time, a reopen date remains unknown.
Please note all positions are now full.
