Only 20 gardens nominated; daily voting ends March 28
As spring approaches, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is in the running for USA Today’s contest for the country’s Favorite Botanical Garden. The Garden is one of only 20 from around the United States nominated. Voting ends March 28 at noon (ET) and the winner will be announced April 1. Daily voting is encouraged at http://bit.ly/BESTgarden.
In 2014, the Garden was voted into the number two spot in a similar USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice contest for the 10 Best Public Gardens.
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s mission is education and its passion is connecting people and plants to improve communities. The Garden educates more than 12,000 schoolchildren annually, including a quarter from low to moderate income households participating at no charge; grows more than 10,000 pounds of fresh produce annually to feed the hungry; and contributes to community public greening initiatives supporting the economy and enhancing quality of life.
