Beautiful Gardens Through the Seasons
Spring
Who’s ready to celebrate spring after a long winter?
We are! That’s why our beautiful gardens are designed to delight you all season long with a carefully planned roll-out of early to late blooming cherry trees, daffodils, tulips and much, much more. Find your secret spot in the Garden to enjoy the beauty. Spring also marks the opening of our indoor Butterflies LIVE! exhibit in the Conservatory.

Our horticulture staff like to surprise you.
That’s why you’ll see them create eye-popping displays throughout the season. Summer is also a time for fragrant roses, walks along cool, shady paths, and fun in the Children’s Garden. Fascinated by the unusual? Check out the Garden’s carnivorous pitcher plant collection. They’re deadly only to insects, not humans!

Shhh. It’s kind of a secret, but fall is one of the best times to visit the Garden.
With cooler temps, the summer displays have a glorious last hurrah in fall, as do the roses. The Garden turns gold and crimson, and feathery ornamental grasses dance in the breeze. Take a leisurely walk around the ponds and lakes and admire the colorful reflections.

You get the best of both worlds with a winter visit.
Outside in the simplified landscape, you can see the underlying structure or “bones” of the Garden and appreciate colorful berries, bark textures and intricate seed pods. It’s a great time for bird-watching, too. Step inside the Conservatory to be transported to a tropical paradise. Winter is one of the best times to visit our orchid collection and see more than 200 orchids in bloom.

There’s a fifth season at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden – the holiday season.
From the night after Thanksgiving to early January, we deck the Garden inside and out with lights, botanical decorations, model train displays and more. Come at night for the full effect of half-a-million lights; visit during the day to take your time and admire the intricate hand-crafted decorations. No wonder it’s one of our most-visited times at the Garden.
