Million Blooms Winner
Meet this year’s #MillionBlooms Instagram Contest winner, Garden Member Kelly Randall (@falco_kapowski on Instagram). We love this story!
“Mara and I go to Lewis Ginter two or three times a week. My grandparents got us a membership for Christmas and we have definitely been getting our money’s worth! Mara loves to practice her walking and stick-collecting, mulberry-eating, and sand-raking skills. We usually go from 9-11 a.m. to get some outside time in before the heat of the day has time to show up. Mara especially likes Lewis Ginter after it rains because the path up to the tree house has lots of puddles to splash in. We love that no matter how often we go, there’s always new blooms to see. We were lucky enough to be there when the peonies were in full bloom and Mara was pretty excited about it! ….I have to say, all of the staff and volunteers are SO nice! Since we’re there so early we see a lot of volunteers weeding and staff starting their day. Mara loves saying “Hi” to everyone. It’s basically her version of Disneyland”
It’s hard to top this comment, so we’ll just say, Kelly and Mara, you made our day! Thank you for being Garden Members, and we are so grateful that you have made Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden a part of your life and started your own traditions. You can probably tell, we think this place is pretty special too.
Congratulations also to the second prize winner, pf.sofia, with the best ever cherry blossom selfie!
