Join us for a week of half day camp filled with adventure, discovery, and exploration in the Garden! Please see the full schedule of camps below.

Registration opens Wednesday, February 26th at 10am! 

Be sure to log into your Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden account to ensure you are ready for registration! Please use my.lewisginter.org/account/login to create or access your account.

During registration, you will be asked to provide information about your camper (allergies, accommodations, etc.) and emergency contact/authorized pick up information (name, phone number). Please have this information prepared for February 26th to ensure a smooth registration!

2025 GREEN ADVENTURE SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE

Summer camps are Monday – Friday, 9am – noon. No camp is offered June 30 – July 4.

Fees per week, per camper: $175 member, $225 non-member

Nature Makerspace | June 9 – 13, Ages 7 – 8 | July 7 – 11, Ages 9 – 10 
Full STEAM ahead! Campers will spend the week in the Garden looking for inspiration for their nature themed projects. They will explore, create, design and read about the way that nature plays a part in our communities while learning about the 3 Rs; reduce, reuse, recycle!

Wow Your Senses | June 16 – 20, Ages 5 – 6 
The garden is the perfect place to dazzle all five of our senses. Join us on a journey through sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste as we explore the natural world around us, focusing on curiosity and observation. To better appreciate the wonders of the world around us, we will also learn the science of how other living things use their senses too!

Connecting with Nature | June 16 – 20, Ages 9 – 10 | July 21 – 25, Ages 11 – 12 
Nature is magic! This week of camp we will discover and deepen our individual and collective connection with nature through play, observation, and reflection. Through the sensory exploration of various landscapes, campers will tap into their own unique perspective and relationship with nature.

Happy Habitats | June 23 – 27, Ages 5 – 6 
During this fun week of camp, we will be learning all about habitats. With crafts, games, books, and hands-on-learning opportunities, we will explore how plants and animals across the world find the right places to call home. We will even take a look at the unique creatures who live right here at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden!

Jr. Entomologist | June 23 – 27, Ages 7 – 8 
In this exciting insect-focused program, campers will become junior entomologists and investigate insects’ roles in the ecosystem. They will learn techniques to identify different native Virginia insects while exploring the Garden. From visiting the Apiary to looking at Lepidopterist Clara’s tropical butterfly collections, this camp is filled with fun and educational activities that are sure to be a hit with your bug-lover. Let’s inspire the next generation of entomologists!

Exploring Ecosystems | July 7 – 11, Ages 11 – 12
In this game packed week, campers will learn about ecosystems, adaptations, and evolution through a mix of active, creative, and immersive play. Campers will have the opportunity to get goofy and connect with the natural world around them!

Garden Quest | July 14 – 18, Ages 5 – 6 
Hark! Well met, Garden Traveler. This week campers will learn creativity skills and work together to improvise and create a collaborative fantasy story. Campers will draw, play, craft, and cast spells to explore the garden and the wild worlds inside our imaginations.

Nature Crafting | July 14 – 18, Ages 7 – 8 
For five delicious days, we will learn about edible plants. Focusing on herbs, fruits, and vegetables we will explore their applications and create unique recipes. We will make tasty food, fragrant salve, and more, all while fostering a connection to nature and the plants that feed us.

Nature Survivors | July 21 – 25, Ages 5 – 6 
What would you do if one day you woke up as a mouse? What about a deer? Would you know where to find food? Where to hide from predators? In Nature Survivors, we will spend the week immersing ourselves in a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure epic journey around the Garden, discovering if we could survive in nature.

Wonders of Water | July 28 – August 1, Ages 7 – 8
How does a raindrop fall from the sky, just to end up back up there? How does a watershed help clean our drinking water? Through hands-on experiments, habitat exploration, stories and much more, campers will explore water in all phases. Get ready to get your hands wet and dive deeper into the fascinating world of water!

Botany Bonanza | July 28 – August 1, Ages 9 – 10
Learn the basics of botany in the best place— at a botanical garden! We will learn all about how plants grow, reproduce, and impact our daily lives. Campers will have the chance to look at cells through a microscope and meet with horticulture staff for a special behind-the-scenes look at some of our coolest plants.

Fantastic Flowers | August 4 – 8, Ages 5 – 6 
Creativity blooms in the garden during this week-long exploration of all things floral! Campers will learn how flowers grow through songs, stories, and movement activities. We’ll get to know the tiny critters in our compost pile and visit the honeybees in our garden apiary. Campers will celebrate the beautiful shapes and colors of garden blossoms with lots of arts and crafts!

Wild Craft | August 4 – 8, Ages 7 – 8 
Welcome all wildcrafters, foragers, and nature lovers to this immersive and hands on camp where we explore all that the garden has to offer. Campers brush up on plant ID and foraging skills and create edible, medicinal, beautiful crafts. Are you ready to harness the power of plants and experience the magic of the garden?

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Camp registration fees are fully refundable, up until one week prior to the start of your child’s camp, minus a $15 cancellation fee. Exceptions may be made in the case of illness or family emergency.

Please note: We will adhere to strict age guidelines, please ensure your camper is registered for their appropriate age group.

To keep everyone healthy and safe, please do not send your child to camp if they have or have had symptoms of COVID-19 (and have not been tested) or have tested positive within the past 14 days. Per CDC guidelines, campers may attend camp if they have quarantined for five days, have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and their symptoms are improving. They must wear a well-fitted mask when around others for 10 days after exposure or positive test result.

Please note that all policies are subject to change if we determine a higher level of precaution is necessary to keep campers, staff, and volunteers safe.
