Louise B. Cochrane Art Exhibition & Sale

March 4 – April 10, 2022

Louise and Harwood Cochrane were benefactors of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for thirty years. An excerpt from the book Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: 25 Years and Growing tells the story:

Throughout her life, Louise B. Cochrane has expressed her admiration for roses through her paintings and personal gardens. In 2007, this “Lover of
Roses” decided that the Richmond community would benefit from an expansion and reconfiguration of the Rose Garden and Belvedere that she originally funded in 2001. Her gift to the Garden transformed that dream into reality – now and for years to come thousands will delight in the roses due to Mrs. Cochrane’s benevolence.

This is a unique opportunity to own a Louise Cochrane original painting. All proceeds will benefit Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.

Artist Bio:WORKS OF LOUISE B. COCHRANE

Cochrane began painting in 1970 through art classes at The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club. From taking art workshops in Rockport, Massachusetts, Richmond, Virginia, and Matthews, Virginia to venturing abroad to Venice, Italy for a 14-day painting experience, Cochrane embraced her passion for painting to the fullest. Her love of flowers continued to serve as the primary subject of her art.
