Activities
Come visit our face painting and caricature station through the day for a fun new look, and join in on family Storytime with Hank Thornhill’s reading his beloved new book, Friends of the Great Outdoors at 10 am, followed by a hands-on sensory activity. Then, don’t miss SCRAP Creative Reuse’s fun upcycled crafts, as well as personal pumpkin painting in the Children’s Garden! After, stop by the Darlington Oak to watch our talented live pumpkin carver Dana DuMont sculpt all sorts of spooky designs! Enjoy live music throughout the day by the Americana-Rock sensation The Pollocks, and be sure to stick around for the afterparty with Boots and Pearls Line Dancers, kicking off at 2 p.m. Everyone’s welcome to join in!
Live Music
Charlottesville’s own local band, The Pollocks, will be performing live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. “The music can best be described as American rock, with the right amount of soul: The Rolling Stones meets Jefferson Airplane. There’s some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Neil Young thrown in for good measure.” Get ready for a mix of crowd-pleasing covers and original tunes—perfect for music lovers of all ages!
