AIR LAYERING:
CREATING A FLOORING TREE IN 4 MONTHS

Learn how to propagate a tree through the plant propagation technique air layering. While growing a flower producing tree from seed or hardwood cutting takes years and has a low rate of success, air layering makes an exact copy of an existing tree that will flower this season. In this hands-on workshop you will learn and practice on the Garden’s Camellia collection as you propagate your own 18″ Camellia to take home at a later date. This class will take place in the Garden, but will meet in the Atrium of the Robins Visitors Center. Please dress for the weather and working in the Garden.

About the Instructor

Stuart Clayman always had a love of plants. In 2014 he became a Master Gardener and discovered that there is a lot of additional knowledge available. This has put him on a course of never ending learning, either by experimenting, classes at local universities or gardens or by joining active groups like the Virginia Camilla Society and volunteering at gardens like J. C. Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh. He loves plants and enjoys propagating them.
