Allied Horticultural Organizations

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden partners with allied horticultural organizations to advance the Garden’s mission of connecting people with plants to build community and encourage conservation efforts. The Garden provides reciprocal support to these organizations, which conduct some of their work on site at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden through public meetings, flower shows, and other educational programs. Ikebana of Richmond

Ikebana of Richmond meets the first Thursday of the month from September through May from 10 am – 12:30 pm in the Kelly Education Center at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.


Richmond Designers’ Guild

Richmond Designers’ Guild has been partnering with Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden since shortly after getting started in 2011. The Guild meets monthly from March through October in the Kelly Education Center at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Meetings are only open to Guild members.


Richmond Horticultural Association

Around 1982, Richmond Horticultural Association (RHA) members joined with other interested citizens and played a significant part in the establishment of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. RHA hosts public meetings at the Garden at 1 pm on the first Monday of the month February through November with a holiday luncheon each December. Guests are welcome.


The Virginia Orchid Society

Virginia Orchid Society (VOS) holds meetings at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden September through November and January through May, typically the third Sunday of the month at 2 pm. The speakers at VOS monthly meetings discuss various aspects of orchid growing and share their knowledge of orchid world. Guests are welcome.


Virginia Native Plant Society, Pocahantas Chapter

The Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Pland Society hosts meetings with guest speakers at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on the first Thursday of the month from September through April (except December). These meetings are free, begin at 6:30 pm and non-members are welcome.
