For centuries, artists have portrayed characteristics and attributes of plants—including movement, signaling, and intention—that current scientific research validates as real and observable. Artist Nancy Blum, whose exhibition of new drawings opens at the Reynolds Gallery November 3rd, takes the stage with Dr. Eric Brenner, Associate Professor of Biology at Pace University, for a dialogue about their shared fascination with plant evolution and the infinite complexities of the plant world. Curator Ashley Kistler moderates the conversation, and Nancy’s new monograph documenting 20 years of drawings, sculptures, and public art will be available for purchase and signing. The event opens and closes with a cash bar reception featuring a floral cocktail designed for the occasion.
Cash bar reception 4 pm, program 4:30-5:30, book sales and reception until 6:30 pm
