All floral materials provided. Please bring floral clippers, a box or wash bin to transport design home, rag & apron if desired.

GES: FD, 1.5, elective*

*This class offers 1.5 hours of elective credit toward the Garden Education Series: Floral Design Certificate. Non-certificate students are welcome. All levels welcome.

Betty Ann GalwayAbout the Instructor

Betty Ann Galway, AIFD, CFD, is a certified floral designer with a true passion for flowers and sharing this joy with others. She is an inducted member of the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) and is an AIFD Certified Evaluator and Judge. Previously, she worked at the Norfolk Botanical Garden (NBG), where she retired after 13 years as the Adult Education Director. In 2005 she launched the Floral Design Certificate Program at NBG. Currently, Betty Ann is freelancing mainly as a design instructor; she has worked in several floral shops and has had her own floral wedding business. She enters in many flower shows and is an Accredited Master Judge through the Federation of Garden Clubs. Since 2010, her floral interpretations of the arts have been displayed in Richmond during Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ “Fine Arts and Flowers” events, and in Norfolk at the opening of the Virginia Arts Festival at Chrysler Hall and at Virginia Stage Company’s performances. Betty Ann is a member of Floralia, Richmond Designer’s Guild, Shenandoah Design Guild, Creative Floral Arrangers of the America, Thoroughgood Garden Club and the National Capital Area, Shenandoah and Tidewater Judges’ Councils.
