BUTTERFLY PINNING
101
Discover the amazing world of entomological pinning with instructors Justin and Clara! Experienced pinning instructor Justin Torone from Rest In Pieces joins forces with Lepidopterist and the Garden’s former Butterflies LIVE! Coordinator Clara Aus to offer this informative and immersive experience. Participants will be led through guided pinning of the Giant Blue Morpho butterfly, Morpho didius, as well as learn about its unique adaptations, life cycle, and natural history (specimens provided). Students will leave with their own pinned Morpho didius, a frame, handouts, pinning supplies for future projects, and the confidence to continue pinning on their own. Justin and Clara have different backgrounds in entomology and experience with a variety of pinning methods but share their deep passion for insects. Two unique instructors = twice the learning and twice the fun!
