INTRODUCTION TO
TREE CARE & OWNERSHIP
Trees are an essential and beautiful part of any healthy landscape, and they bring a multitude of benefits to homeowners (and the broader community!). According to USDA Forest Service, healthy, mature trees add an average of 10% to a property’s value while also bringing improvements in water quality and reductions in runoff and soil erosion. In this course, Janine Lester, landscape designer and consulting arborist, will help homeowners and anyone who cares about trees learn more about trees and how to care for them. Topics discussed will include the benefits of trees, how to select quality trees, how to plant them and how to prune them.
