GROWING
MICROGREENS

Microgreens are tiny, nutrient-rich plants that are harvested at an early stage of growth, making them a popular choice for health-conscious individuals, chefs and food enthusiasts. This hands-on workshop led by Will Nelson will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to grow a wide variety of microgreens at home, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh and flavorful greens. You’ll learn the art and science of what microgreens need to thrive, when to harvest them, and some tips on how you can cook with them. You’ll take your own starter kit and seeds with you to grow your very own microgreens at home.

Will NelsonAbout the Instructor

As the Digital Content Strategist at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Will Nelson has not only found a career but a deep-rooted obsession that has continued to blossom. In 2021, Will took his love for plants to the next level and founded “Will To Plant,” a venture that includes a backyard plant nursery and tabling at local markets. His expertise has led him to conduct workshops on plants and mushroom cultivation all across Virginia. Through these endeavors, he has brought the wonders of nature closer to the community, inspiring many to develop their green spaces and cultivate their own gardens. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener looking to expand your skills or a complete beginner, Will’s workshops are designed to cater to all levels, as he believes that anyone can develop a green thumb with the right guidance and passion.
