PLANT IDENTIFICATION

Practice and empower yourself with the knowledge of wild plant identification. The ability to key and ID a plant before you ingest or harness its medicine is crucial. This workshop will discuss sure fire ways to ensure that you have the right plant before you begin as well as basic wildcrafting essentials.

Our Garden continues to follow CDC recommendations and state guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Properly worn masks are strongly encouraged for indoor class participants regardless of vaccination status. The Garden reserves the right to implement additional safety measures. Any updates will be communicated prior to class, if possible.

Nitika Achalam Herbalism 101: Oils, Salves, & TopicalsAbout the instructor

Nitika Achalam is a Holistic Wellness Educator who uses her skills as a Clinical Herbalist, Reiki Master, and Yoga Therapist to inform knowledge sharing. Nitika studied Anthropology at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on how ancient cultures used plant medicine and alternative remedies to prevent and treat disease. Nitika passionately applies over two decades of education and practice to support her clients’ physical and energetic wellness. Nitika is the Executive Director of Project Yoga Richmond, a practitioner at A Brighter Birth Collective, and the resident herbalist and farmer at Baehouse.
