Steve Parkins

Chief Financial Officer Steve Parkins brings over 30 years of experience in the finance field, and over 20 years of experience in the Richmond nonprofit community. He has previously served as CFO of Jewish Family Services of Richmond, Finance Director of the Instructive Visiting Nurse Association of Richmond, and CFO of group physician practices in Richmond and Raleigh, NC. After starting his career in public accounting, he transitioned to the role of CFO which allowed him to have a greater role in doing more meaningful work.

Steve is dedicated to sound and transparent financial management that enables nonprofit leaders and boards of directors to make incisive and timely decisions that support their organization’s mission. He enjoys making complex financial data understandable to all stakeholders in order to guide organizations towards growth and financial sustainability.

Steve is a native of West Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a long-time Richmond resident and currently lives in Short Pump. He and his wife have four grown children. His interests include biking, hiking, and exploring national parks.
