Event Details

Heavy rainfalls and dangerous heat waves have become noticeable effects of our changing climate. Join staff from Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and the Science Museum of Virginia to learn about the science around water pollution and the urban heat island effect and easy practices we can all use in our landscapes to protect our community and the environment. This workshop will explore the rich history and diverse ecology of the James River, examine the sources and effects of pollutants on plant and animal species, and cover landscape-based strategies we can all adopt at home to be good water stewards.
