Botanical illustration as a discipline has long been associated with botanical gardens. In the days before photography, illustrations provided accurate depictions of plants to help identify them. And, before color photography, illustrations provided accurate color depictions. Botanical art today still relies on the accurate portrayal of plants.
This exhibit is dedicated to Juliet Kirby, on her retirement from teaching.
