Ken Myers
Vice President, Facilities
Ken guides and coordinates the efforts of the maintenance, housekeeping, operations and security departments. He believes the support departments within any organization make a critical difference for success.
After a 20+ year career working in museums and historic preservation, Ken is excited to bring his expertise to a historic public garden setting. With experience serving as the owner’s representative on various construction and renovation projects at the Valentine Richmond History Center, he looks forward to playing an important role in the Garden’s planned Capital projects as outlined in the Garden’s 2020–2024 Strategic Plan, Unearthing Our Potential (PDF).
Ken is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and a member of the Richmond Chapter of the International Association of Museum Facilities Administrators (IAMFA). Ken is a founding member of Richmond Museums Emergency Support Team (MEST) and a member of the Association for Preservation Technology (APT). As a leader in historic preservation, Ken has been a panelist at the Virginia Association of Museums annual conference.
When not working at the Garden, Ken enjoys being an accompanist for another great Richmond cultural attraction, the Richmond Ballet.
